Key Responsibilities

1. Claims Administration & Processing

  • Register new claims and capture claim details on internal systems
  • Load and authorise claim payments

  • Verify supporting documents and ensure accurate quantum calculations
  • Maintain document diaries on the IMS system
  • Update claim reserves according to reserving policy
  • Follow up on outstanding documentation
  • Analyse claims exposure and determine appropriate settlement action
  • Approve claims within delegated authority
  • Escalate complex or contentious claims to the Supervisor
  • Update system notes to reflect the latest claim status
  • Inform the underwriting department of coverage gaps or premium discrepancies
  • Handle customer queries promptly and professionally

2. Agency & Broker Liaison

  • Negotiate settlement of claims
  • Liaise regularly with agents and brokers
  • Provide progress updates to all relevant stakeholders

3. Ad Hoc Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as required by the Line Manager

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • No prior work experience required
  • Strong administrative and communication skills will be advantageous
