Minimum Requirements
The Cleaner and General Worker positions have slightly different requirements, but both are open to individuals with basic education and life skills.
Cleaner Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Grade 10 or equivalent as recognized by SAQA
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Basic reading and math
- Ability to read and write clearly
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of Batho Pele Principles
- Knowledge of cleaning products, materials, and equipment
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
- Punctual, respectful, and committed to duty
- Basic health and safety awareness
General Worker Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: ABET Level 2 or equivalent
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Literacy and numeracy
- Basic knowledge of gardening and maintenance
- Familiarity with general tools and equipment
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Willingness to perform manual work
- Ability to follow instructions and handle equipment responsibly

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Cleaner Job Duties:
Cleaners will be responsible for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in departmental facilities. Key tasks include:
- Cleaning offices, boardrooms, kitchens, restrooms, and public areas
- Sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors
- Disposing of trash and restocking bathroom supplies
