About the Role
As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, you will provide excellent customer service, assist shoppers on the sales floor, and ensure smooth and accurate checkout operations. You will represent the Clicks brand through friendly service, professional conduct, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting customers with product information and in-store help
- Processing cash, card, and digital payments accurately
- Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Maintaining a clean, organised sales floor
- Restocking shelves and ensuring product availability
- Managing queues and providing fast, efficient service
- Following company policies, safety procedures, and cash-handling rules
- Ensuring excellent customer experience at all times
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Must be willing to work retail hours (weekends, holidays, shifts)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle cash with accuracy
- Friendly, professional and reliable work ethic
- South African citizen or valid work permit
- Previous retail or cashier experience is an advantage, but not required
