JOB DESCRIPTION
The Special Project Department provides an environment where temple patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience by maintaining temples at standards established by the First Presidency. This position helps provide security coverage for the protection of Temple property from fire, theft, vandalism, trespassing, and illegal entry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Makes required number of reviews of buildings and grounds during assigned shifts.Works in confined spaces.
- Examines doors, windows, and gates to assure they are secure.
- Inspects for potential sources of improper entry to the buildings and report them to the security supervisor for correction.
- Assists those in need of information, directions, or with other problems.
- Works any shift or post as needed.
- Available on a twenty-four-hour basis as needed for emergencies.
- Registers at security checkpoints as required.
- Maintain the Health and Safety file with up-to-date information for compliance.
- Watches for and reports security and safety hazards, such as unauthorized persons, suspicious circumstances, fire, physical, and mechanical hazards.
- Makes out all necessary written reports related to assignments and keeps a record noting any unusual
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must hold a current and valid Temple Recommend.
- Requires a High School Certificate or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years security experience.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
- Requires tact and judgment in exercising duties.
- Able to work shifts (early and late)
- Able to lift equipment up to 25kg.
- Must be computer literate.
- Possession of a current health and safety certificate is an added advantage.
